Beat cabin fever and support the NYCAP Scholarship Fund at the Greek Alumni Bar Night on February 15, 2012. The event will take place at the Irish Exit in Midtown from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
A $10 donation is requested at the door and a cash bar will be available. We look forward to having a strong showing among NYCAP sororities as well as alumni fraternity groups. Feel free to invite your friends.

Celebrate the Kentucky Derby with AOPi

Join the ladies of AOPi and Panhellenic for the most fun north of Churchill Downs for the 7th Annual Kentucky Derby Celebration. This get-together promises to celebrate Southern culture with good food and friends – and the best two minutes in sports. They’ll have the traditional hat contests for all genders. Aspiring chefs are encouraged to bring a small dish to share – you’ll be entered in our Tastes of the South contest! Deviled eggs, pimento cheese sandwiches, pulled pork, Derby Pie… and of course, Mint Juleps will be available at Dive 75.

a. NYCAP Scholarship- Megan proposed that we extend the deadline to June and have a presentation/celebration for the winner in the fall at a non-alcohol related event. Motion passed unanimously.

2011 New York City Alumnae Panhellenic Awards ApplicationApplication Deadline: Thursday, May 5th, 2011 Send application to jillian.k.gray@gmail.com

The awards and descriptions are listed below. Each alumnae chapter can apply for all four awards; however, a chapter can only receive the maximum of two awards per year. The application consists of a 250 – 500 word response explaining why your chapter has earned the award. Additional documents (photos, fliers, letters of recommendation, etc.) may be submitted as well with your application. We encourage all alumnae chapters to apply for at least one award. Best of luck! The awards will be announced at the Spring Cocktail Event, and the winning chapters will be featured on our website, newsletter, and Facebook page.

AWARDS and descriptions:

1.) Best Collegiate Outreach & Support

This award will go to a chapter with strong programming geared towards building a solid relationship with local collegiate chapter/chapters.

2.) Most Panhellenic Spirit – Chapter Award

This award is for the chapter that participates in other alumnae panhellenic events, cosponsors programs, embodies the sisterhood spirit of the NYC alumnae panhellenic organization.

3.) Best Philanthropic Program

This award is pretty self-explanatory. The chapter awarded does not necessarily raise the most money for their designated philanthropy, but instead this award includes promotion of the event, creativity, passion, organization, and support.

4.) Best Alumnae Outreach and Support

This award encompasses strong communication, support, recruitment, sisterhood, relationship-building, and event planning within an alumnae group.

Hands On New York Day is April 16th

Whether you’re motivated by keeping parks green, helping communities stay safe or enjoying a Saturday spent volunteering, then consider participating in New York Cares’ Hands on New York Day. This year’s park cleaning event will take place on Saturday, April 16th with Brooklyn’s McCarren Park as the designated location. The “Greek Goddesses” team (organized by Delta Gamma Alumnae) will be meeting at 8:45am at the Starbucks in Union Square (14th Street and Union Square East) and heading to McCarren Park via the L train. The day of park beautification will stretch from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Kappa Delta’s Comedy Night is April 14th!

Join the ladies of the Kappa Delta Sorority NYC Alumnae Association at their upcoming Comedy Night for Prevent Child Abuse of America on Thursday, April 14th. The event will take place at The Mean Fiddler (266 W. 47th Street, Downstairs Party Space) from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Advance tickets are $10 and can be purchased online.
